What is Akaunting?

Akaunting puts day-to-day bookkeeping and customer-facing billing in the same browser application. A company can record money moving through bank or cash accounts, issue invoices, track vendor costs, and review reports. Its app marketplace adds specialized workflows, with availability depending on the selected plan and installed apps.

Akaunting is online accounting software for small businesses and freelancers. It is built with Laravel and uses a modular App Store to extend accounting workflows.

Core capabilities

  • Create invoices while recording bills, expenses, payments, and bank activity
  • Manage several companies with customer, vendor, tax, currency, and report records
  • Add accounting and operational features through an application marketplace

One accounting workspace

Invoices, bills, expenses, customers, vendors, bank and cash accounts, taxes, currencies, and reports share a company-level data model. Multi-company administration keeps separate organizations accessible from one installation; client portals give customers a place to review their transactions and invoices.

Modules and deployment choice

Akaunting offers cloud and on-premise plans, and its marketplace contains installable or purchasable apps. Double-entry accounting, inventory, projects, and estimates are presented as apps rather than assumed core entitlements. The current repository identifies its license as the Business Source License.
