What is EspoCRM?
EspoCRM connects sales and service records with the communication around them. Leads, accounts, contacts, opportunities, campaigns, and cases share a web application that administrators can adapt with custom entities and fields. Developers can connect other systems through its REST API.
EspoCRM is a free, open-source CRM platform for managing customer relationships. It organizes leads, contacts, opportunities, campaigns, and support cases, with customization and REST API integration options.
Core capabilities
- Track leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities, activities, and cases
- Work with personal and group email alongside related CRM records
- Customize entities, fields, and relationships and integrate through a REST API
Relationship records with communication in context
Sales and service records are connected to activities, calendar events, campaigns, cases, documents, and a stream of changes. Email can be fetched from personal or group accounts and associated with the relevant lead, account, opportunity, or case instead of living in a separate inbox.

A CRM model administrators can reshape
Custom entities, fields, and relationships extend the standard CRM model, while the REST API provides an integration boundary. Email requires configured accounts and background jobs; record association is not the same as two-way synchronization of mailbox folders. Advanced extension features should be evaluated separately.

Where it fits
Use cases

Run a sales pipeline
Move leads and opportunities through a pipeline while retaining related accounts, contacts, calls, meetings, tasks, emails, documents, and activity history.
- 02
Coordinate a shared service mailbox
Configure personal or group mail accounts, fetch incoming messages through the scheduled email job, and link messages to customer or case records with access governed by roles.
- 03
Adapt the CRM to an internal process
Create entities, fields, relationships, and integrations that match internal records and processes instead of forcing every workflow into standard contact fields.
