What is OpenProject?
OpenProject brings schedules, work items, collaboration, time, cost, and portfolio information into one project system. Teams can use detailed Gantt planning, agile boards, or a hybrid of both, then connect execution to meetings, documents, calendars, budgets, resources, and organization-level roadmaps.
OpenProject is a web-based project management system for projects, tasks, and goals. It includes planning and scheduling, roadmaps, team collaboration, Agile and Scrum tools, time tracking, budgets, wikis, and meeting support.
Core capabilities
- Schedule work packages with Gantt plans, dependencies, and milestones
- Run Scrum and Kanban work through configurable agile boards
- Track time, cost, resources, meetings, documents, and portfolios
Classic, agile, and hybrid project structures
Work packages are the common unit beneath schedules and boards. A team can model dates, dependencies, milestones, and roadmaps in Gantt views, manage flow with Scrum or Kanban boards, or use both approaches while keeping the same assignments, status, and project context.

Governance and collaboration around delivery
OpenProject adds calendars, meetings, documents, wikis, time and cost records, budgets, resource planning, and portfolio views around execution. Cloud and on-premises editions give organizations a choice in how the shared project record is operated and controlled.
