What is OpenSEO?

OpenSEO brings the research, monitoring, and auditing parts of an SEO program into one open platform. Teams can use the hosted service or self-host it, connect their own DataForSEO account, and let an AI agent work with the same underlying data through MCP instead of relying on generic search advice.

OpenSEO is an open-source SEO platform for keyword research, rank tracking, competitor analysis, backlinks, technical site audits, and AI-search visibility. It combines a modern web interface with MCP tools that let AI agents work from the same live SEO data.

Core capabilities

  • Researches keywords, search results, competitors, backlinks, and ranking opportunities in connected workflows.
  • Audits websites for technical SEO issues and tracks keyword positions over time.
  • Exposes SEO and Search Console data to Codex, Claude, and other AI agents through MCP.

SEO workflows that share context

Keyword research, saved opportunities, rank tracking, domain visibility, backlinks, and site audits live in one connected workspace. That makes it easier to move from an initial query to a prioritized content or technical plan without copying data between separate tools.
