What is Sylius?
Sylius provides ecommerce as a set of Symfony-oriented domain models, services, state machines, resources, and APIs that a development team can shape around its own business rules. The standard application supplies catalog, customer, cart, checkout, order, payment, shipping, tax, promotion, and administration flows without treating them as an immovable storefront.
Sylius is an open-source e-commerce framework built on Symfony. Its REST API and flexible architecture support stores that need tailored integrations and customer experiences.
Core capabilities
- Model products, variants, channels, customers, orders, inventory, and promotions
- Customize checkout, payment, shipping, tax, and fulfillment behavior in Symfony
- Expose headless commerce resources through API Platform and integration points
Commerce modeled as reusable components
Products, variants, channels, customers, addresses, orders, inventory, shipping, payments, taxes, promotions, and currencies are represented as domain resources and services. Teams can use the standard application or work with those components directly when a generic platform would constrain the model.

Customization from workflow to API
State machines and services define how checkout and order activity progresses, while Symfony configuration, events, plugins, and application code provide extension points. API Platform exposes the resulting resources for headless storefronts and integrations without removing access to the underlying domain model.
