What is Vikunja?
Vikunja presents the same tasks through several planning styles, letting a person or team move between straightforward lists, dense tables, Kanban flow, and a Gantt schedule. Dates, reminders, repetition, saved filters, sharing, and team access support ongoing work without requiring a hosted-only service.
Vikunja is an open-source, self-hostable task manager for personal and team projects. It organizes tasks in list, Kanban, Gantt, and table views, while allowing teams to share projects and assign work.
Core capabilities
- View the same tasks as lists, tables, Kanban boards, or Gantt plans
- Schedule due dates, reminders, and recurring work with filters and search
- Share projects with users or teams and integrate through the API
One task model across several views
List and table layouts support quick capture and detailed review, Kanban shows work as a flow, and Gantt exposes dates and dependencies over time. Because each view operates on the same underlying tasks, teams can change perspective without maintaining separate plans.

Due dates, reminders, recurring rules, filters, search, users, teams, and sharing links cover everyday coordination. The project also provides an API, migration paths, install packages, containers, and desktop or mobile clients for different operating environments.
